As the newly elected President of the Nursery and Garden Industry of Australia I have the wonderful role of sending an invitation to ALL industry members to come to Brisbane in March 2012 and be involved with the Nursery and Garden Industry National Conference on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
As many of you have experienced the fun and fellowship at past conferences, the last being Darwin 2010, I can guarantee that 2012 in Brisbane with the best of them all.
It is no secret that our Industry has copped a real hiding for the last few years and everyone has been affected — both large and small. We have been through Drought, GFC and Flood, but we are a resilient group and it’s time for catching up with old friends and make some new ones and share our stories.
There is a change coming and the content and focus of this conference is about how we Ride the Wave of Change going forward. We will be looking at a forecast into the economic future and making sure your business is ready for it. National Biosecurity Legislation will be highlighted along with updated information on the changing consumer landscape. The way forward for Garden Centre retailing will be shown by none other than John Stanley himself and let’s not forget the strategy of utilising technology and social media is the way of the future for this industry, so don’t get left behind. An in-depth look at achieving Supply Chain efficiency on farm is also covered, plus much more.
