Delegate feedback ensures strong retail and production program for 2008 National Conference

The 2008 National Conference Committee has responded to feedback from delegates by strengthening the conference program in the areas of retail and production for the 2008 Nursery & Garden Industry National Conference and Exhibition.

According to Malcolm Lewis, Chair of the 2008 Conference Committee and President of NGISA the 2008 Conference will be appealing to growers and retailers alike.

“One of the aims for the 2008 National Conference is to make it more appealing to retailers. For the first time in many years, we have a strong retail program on offer. We have kept garden centres front of mind during the development of the concurrent program and scheduled sessions that will provide practical and useful advice,” says Malcolm.

Some of the sessions for retailers include: The Power of Merchandising presented by John Bradshaw of Freedom Furniture; Café's and Coffee Carts presented by industry leaders Dianne Hall and Karen Moad and Turning Shoppers into Buyers presented by Roger Simpson of Productivity Increase Group.

The production and growing media sessions has also been tailored to specifically address the needs of this sector offering results and solutions for use immediately by delegates in their businesses. Topics relevant to growers and growing media suppliers include: Labour Saving Efficiencies presented by Mike Walker of Transplant Systems; Plant Growth Regulators presented by Ben Ellerton of Ball Australia and Economic Modeling to Improve Profitability and Results of the Irrigation Scheduling presented by Redlands Department of Primary Industries.
