judging, helpful hints and contact details

Judging

Judging in each category is conducted by a panel comprising of industry professionals and related industry experts, all whom are impartial. Finalists will be selected from each category. Garden centres and production nursery finalists will receive onsite judging from a suitably qualified industry representative. All other categories are judged by your written submissions which are assessed by a panel of national judges.

Helpful Hints

Although the onsite visit will carry more weight in determining State Winners, the written submission is essential to becoming a State Finalist and gaining the opportunity for an onsite visit. It is best to support your claims of success and results with facts and figures. Where possible use real circumstances as examples. Be kind to yourself and the judges – do not exceed the maximum page length for the submission. The judges would like to see businesses and people who are passionate about their work, who have personality and who are innovative. Picture yourself as one of the judges, assessing dozens of submissions. That takes a lot of time. Please only include requested and relevant information. Cross-reference the supporting material with headings in your submission where possible.
